When mathematics rhymes with music

As part of the “Rencontres de la Rotonde” initiated by the French Embassy in Armenia, FINECO organized, on December 3, the presentation of the French-Armenian Dictionary of Mathematical Terms and a meeting with the two founders of the Grame Centre, on the themes of mathematics applied to musical creation. 

The French-Armenian dictionary of Tovmas Tovmassian’s mathematical terms, published by KARTHALA, is a fine example of Armenia’s ability to produce, over the centuries, and even in the worst moments of its history, both practical works (it is the only bilingual dictionary of this type) and a body of scholarship.

This is an exceptional work carried out with the help of mathematicians from France and Armenia, who will meet in early 2016 at the Académie française to present this unpublished book in Paris.
