Muscari participates on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March 2019 to the “Armenian village” organized by AGBU France in Paris.
Through the various cultural, gastronomic and touristic activities, go out and meet the Armenian people and the peacemakers present all weekend.
As part of this event, we will present to the public the Gyumri ceramics from our handicraft workshop in Armenia. You will find below the photos of some of the pieces that will be to acquire during these two days. This will also be the occasion for Muscari to present in more detail its project and its partnership with the Family Care Foundation, notably through the continuous broadcast of the video “Gyumri, Land of Hope”.
On the initiative of the Family Care Foundation and the Muscari Association, a craft workshop of ceramics was created in 2014 in the city of Gyumri (Armenia), in the tradition of Kütahya Armenian potters.
The originality of this approach lies in its ambition to put art at the service of the resurgence of a spoliated past and the economic development of a city devastated by the terrible earthquake of 1988 and the vagaries of the economic crisis.
It allows the inhabitants of Gyumri, the affected, to reconnect with gestures and a tradition of authentically Armenian craftsmanship, dating back five centuries. It thus contributes to their reappropriation of an original culture, annihilated in 1915.
